Idneo manufacture medical devices for gem-med.

Idneo, a company specializing in engineering, research and development of new products based in Viladecavalls (Barcelona – Spain), has signed a contract with gem-med, business services and solutions specializing in digital electrocardiography networking, for research and development of an innovative device for the brand.

With this project, the company will increase its activity in the “Medical Devices”, as it has done in other areas that currently works, consumer electronics, environment and renewable energy, transport or industrial environment, and also intensify its consolidation as a company committed to quality and technology, covering the entire product development and possible production, the latter being the feature that most differentiates itself from competitors.

gem-med attend the Congress of the French medical imaging JFR 2011 with Expertise Radiologie, a French company specializing in teleradiology and telecardiology.

From 21 to October 25 was held in Porte-Maillot, Paris, the 59th edition of the French Conference of Radiology and the first Congress of the French Society of Radiology.

gem-med, as a technology partner of Expertise Radiologie in telecardiology, provides the technology and tools needed for carrying it out telemedicine services consist of medical outsourcing radiology and cardiology (image, electrocardiography, and Holter) in France.

gem-med will supply with digitalized ECGs to 25 hospitals in Catalonia

gem-med will supply with digitalized ECGs to 25 hospitals in Catalonia under the framework for the Medical Imaging Digitization plan by the Catalonia Department of Health.

 

gem-med has been awarded with the electrocardiography digitalization project by Red.es (Ministry of Industry, Government of Spain), the Catalonia Department of Health and the Agència d’Informació, Avaluació i Qualitat en Salut (AIAQS)  of the Generalitat de Catalunya.

In the next few weeks gem-med will supply and install interoperable and integrated digital ECGs in the clinical information systems (HIS and PACS) based on the DICOM protocol and DICOM waveform format. This will help to improve citizen services by means of the inclusion of ECG diagnosis in the electronic medical record of the Catalan health centers, and allow these diagnoses to be shared with other centers of the territory through the Shared Health Record in Catalunya (HC3).

Requirements: University degree in electrical engineering and / or Telecommunications experience designing analog and digital electronics; Experience in microcontroller programming with C / C + +, Knowledge of embedded operating system (Linux) Knowledge of tools: Matlab and Pspice; Experience demonstrable in the fields provided

Be evaluated: Trial Experience for EMC and electrical safety equipment; Experience programming embedded user environments, Experience in developing firmware for DSPs and FPGAs, knowledge in risk management in design, English and other languages.

gem-med collaborating on the Fitrehab project at the hands of Barcelona Digital.

gem-med Fitrehab collaborating on the project at the hands of Barcelona Digital.

FitRehab is a European R & D will enable the rehabilitation of patients using virtual reality and remote monitoring of health personnel. The project is funded by the European Union, under the Innovation Programme for Welfare and participating companies and research health centers in Spain, Austria, Italy, Netherlands and Estonia.

Develop a platform for the realization of the exercise being planned and remote supervision of an expert, which consists of two workstations built: one is used in health centers to schedule the exercises customized for each patient and the other used by the patient at home to perform the exercises with a virtual trainer. The patient is monitored with sensors placed on a tee and is reflected in an avatar, which reproduces their movements in virtual reality as a game, along with biological sensors to check their physiological variables as heart rate, temperature and breathing. The information collected will be sent to the workstation at the hospital, where medical staff will monitor the logged data and modify the program as needed. Thus, the patient is always under control and medical surveillance.

gem-med partner at the project Neuro 3e + d

gem-med brings his knowledge of systems integration  for neurorehabilitation.

gem-med has actively participated in the project consortium Neuro 3e + d, co-financed by European funds FEDER and ACCIO of the Generalitat of Catalonia, led by the Institut Guttmann.

The consortium also consists of: Barcelona Digital, Cetemmsa, CREB-UPC, Flowlab, NTE-SENER, Artisan Coflent and GBT. Neuro 3e + D is a collaborative research project prior to the subsequent industrial development telerehabilitation platform.

The main objective is the investigation of technologies that together give support to the functional rehabilitation of the upper extremities, from:

• Modelling of daily life activities in virtual environments.
• Monitoring the status of user feedback in real time.
• Intelligent robotic aid to the realization of the movement.
• Tools for remote management of therapy.

gem-med as a company with experience in the field of new technology information and communication aimed at health field, assumes the role of integrating and communicating the various actors in the system telerehabilitation, such as platform management therapy, inertial sensors, virtual environment and algorithm comparison / correction movements.

gem-med establishes its first subsidiary company.

gem-med establishes its first subsidiary company in the United Kingdom. 

Following the Internationalization strategy of the company, gem-med has opened a new subsidiary in England. ”We provide coverage in an easy and flexible way to the English market,” Mr. Tseng said recently  -General Manager at Gem-Med Ltd.

Just a few months ago gem-med, that develops and manufactures the digital electrocardiograph, gem heart one+, has been awarded by the NHS Supply Chain ECG Equipment Framework Agreement as a successful provider.

gem-med coordinates the project MEDCAT

 gem-med coordina el Proyecto MEDCAT: monitorización especializada para el diagnóstico de pacientes crónicos con  asistencia telemática.

El objetivo de este proyecto es demostrar que se pueden mejorar el control y las condiciones en que se realiza el seguimiento de los enfermos crónicos, mediante la aplicación de las nuevas Tecnologías de la Información y Comunicación (TIC).

El control continuado de las constantes vitales de los enfermos crónicos cardíacos y respiratorios y de sus síntomas nos permitirá ofrecer un servicio de seguimiento médico más eficiente y menos costoso en el que se desplace la información en lugar del paciente y el profesional experto.

Se pretende hacer un estudio que demuestre los efectos en la mejora de la calidad asistencial mediante la monitorización domiciliar de pacientes, así como la reducción en la necesidad de ingresos hospitalarios y visitas de carácter urgente.

La investigación durante este proyecto permitirá al mismo tiempo recopilar los datos y protocolos necesarios para poder definir un modelo predictivo de episodios y estado del paciente que podrá ser implementado en un sistema de tele-asistencia sanitaria para pacientes crónicos.

 gem-med coordinates the project MEDCAT: specialized monitoring for the diagnosis of chronic patients with telematics support.

The objective of this project is to demonstrate that it can improve the control and the conditions under which keeps track of the chronically ill through the application of new Information Technologies (ICT).

The continuous monitoring of vital signs of chronic cardiac and respiratory patients and their symptoms will allow us to offer a medical monitoring more efficient and less costly in which to move information instead of the patient and the professional expert.

The aim is to do a study that demonstrates the impact on improving the quality of care by monitoring patient’s home, as well as reducing the need for hospitalizations and urgent visits.

The research for this project will simultaneously collect data and protocols needed to define a predictive model and condition episodes that can be implemented in a tele-health care for chronic patients.
